Transport and College Bus Service
The College operates its own bus service to complement public transport services as they develop in our area. The timetable for the morning and afternoon bus runs are published at the beginning of each year and updated as required. Currently College buses service parts of the following suburbs:
• Beaumont Hills
• Box Hill
• Gables
• Glenwood
• Kings Langley
• Pitt Town
• Rouse Hill
• Rouse Hill Town Centre
• Schofields Station
• Stanhope Gardens
• Tallawong Metro Station
• The Ponds
Students are only permitted to travel between the College and their nominated home bus stop.
The College requires all students using our bus service to have a Student Opal Card and to tap on and tap off. This is used as a means of identification only on our bus system.
For more information about this service, associated costs, and how to apply please contact the College Office or email norwestbus@nwcc.nsw.edu.au
• Primary students should have seating priority, so Secondary students should stand if necessary.
• Students are to remain seated at all times when seats are available.
• Students must not put their heads, hands, arms or other objects out of the windows.
• Students are not permitted to eat or drink on buses.
• Students are not to make excessive noise while travelling on buses.
Misbehaviour on a bus may lead to a situation where either the bus company or the College will recommend that a student be excluded from bus travel. The College policies about standards of behaviour and harassment apply to our students whilst travelling on all buses.
Application Process for School Opal Card
Students must carry a School Opal card to qualify for free travel on NSW Transport to and from the College. School Opal Cards should be tapped on and off every trip. State Transit representatives may ask to see the School Opal card at any time and students are permitted to only travel between the College and their home.
To apply for a School Opal card please click here.
New students who wish to use the NSW Transport System must apply as soon as possible. There is no need for continuing students to apply each year. Families should promptly notify the College and the NSW Transport of any change of address.
Senior Secondary Student Concession Cards
Senior Secondary Student Concession Cards are available from Secondary Administration once the student has turned 16 years.

Bus Supervision
Travel on public buses is not supervised by staff or parents. Parents should contact the College Office if they perceive any problems, whether they be student related or bus company related.
Parents please note:
If you choose to contact the bus company directly, it is reasonable for them to view your manner as being representative of the College community as a whole, so please always be courteous, even when difficulties exist.
State Government policy allows for Primary students to be counted as two-thirds of a person in terms of student numbers on buses. This can mean that some buses seem very crowded. This is essentially a political issue for a Local Member, not necessarily the bus company.
Limited car spaces are available on College grounds for staff and visitors. Parents are encouraged to park adjacent to the College on McCulloch and Regent Streets as designated by Council signage. Parents are reminded that school zone speed limits apply to all roads surrounding the College at designated times; however, there are often other times when students are moving off campus and extra care should always be taken. In College car parks a 10km/h speed limit applies, and all parking is rear to curb.
Student drivers and passengers are subject to the Student Code of Conduct. There is no parking available for students on the College campus with all parking required to minimally impact traffic flow and local residents. Students will require written parent permission (email is acceptable) to drive to or from a College event as well as to take passengers or to be a passenger in a vehicle driven by a student.
